In the Continental GTC S, the instantly recognisable Continental GTC gains extra attitude, inside and out. It all starts with the Blackline Specification, which replaces the chrome-finished exterior details with black versions. That means the window and lamp bezels, the door handles, the tailpipes, the wing vents and the matrix grille – almost everything in fact, apart from the Bentley badging – is black. Even the lights at the front and the rear have been treated with a dark tint.
The car has been fitted with new 21” wheels, exclusive to Bentley’s ‘S’ models. These wheels feature a stunning combination of gloss black and bright machined faces, to catch the eye whether the car is standing still or in motion.
In commissioning any convertible, it is vital that the exterior details work with the interior styling, because when you drive with the roof down, the two will be visible as one. That’s why the ‘S’ theme continues seamlessly from the exterior to the interior, starting with ‘S’ badges on the treadplates as you step inside, where you will see the same emblem on the fascia and embroidered on the seats.
The upholstery features a design that, like the wheels, is exclusive to the ‘S’ models, featuring a primary hide colour, a secondary hide colour and panels of tactile Dinamica on the parts of the interior you will touch most often: the seat bolsters, the gear lever and of course, the steering wheel. As a final flourish, the display of the driver’s information panel has been designed to reflect the car’s sporting character.
The Continental GTC S is built on an advanced, twin-turbocharged 4.0 litre V8 petrol engine. Engage Launch Control and it can take you from 0-60 mph in just 4.0 seconds (0-100 km/h in 4.1 seconds ). The car’s top speed is 198 mph (318 km/h)* – and if you want to make the most of that much-loved V8 exhaust note, drive the car in Sport Mode and experience the roar of the sports exhaust. Better still, do it with the top down.
You can open or close the roof up to 30 mph (50 km/h), which means there’s no need to stop the car if it suddenly starts to rain.
There are four driving modes that allow you to change the driving characteristics of the car according to your mood. The enhanced Sport Mode recalibrates the engine, transmission, steering and suspension settings for a more spirited drive, while Comfort prioritises a refined ride. Bentley Mode offers a balance between the two, while the fourth option, Custom, lets you select a pre-defined combination of settings you configure yourself.
The Continental GTC S is equipped with active all-wheel drive, which means that it drives like a rear-wheel drive car most of the time, yet if it detects a wheel losing traction, it will redistribute some of the engine’s power to the front axle, for improved grip. The Bentley Dynamic Ride anti-roll system, meanwhile, uses a 48-volt electric motor to stiffen and relax the rollbars according to the driving conditions. So when you’re cornering, it will tighten to keep the car stable, but when you drive straight ahead, it will allow a little more give. The result is the best of both worlds: more control and confidence when you need it, without compromising on overall ride quality.

A suite of technology is built into the car to ensure you can enjoy driving with the top down all year round. Heated front seats and a Dinamica-clad heated steering wheel are fitted as standard, while the optional Front Seat Comfort Specification adds ventilation and massage functions to each front seat, alongside built-in neck warmers and heated armrests.
The car comes fitted with the City Specification as standard, which includes assistance features designed to make urban driving easier. There are alert systems to keep you safe when parking and manoeuvring in tight spaces, plus convenience features such as hands-free boot opening. You can also add the optional Touring Specification, which includes features for open-road driving, such as a head-up display, night vision camera and Lane Assist.There is a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot to provide connectivity on the move, as well as Apple CarPlay* and wireless phone charging. Some of the car’s connected services can be accessed via the My Bentley smartphone app, which lets you locate and contact your car – for example, checking the locks and the lights remotely, or locating it in a busy car park.

There is an enormous range of exterior colours to choose from. In fact, when you consider the standard range, the extended range and Mulliner’s range of satin and pearlescent finishes, there are more than 80 colours. Alongside the colour of the bodywork is the colour of the fabric hood. There are seven options here, including a contemporary tweed option.
You can upgrade from the 21” ‘S’ wheels fitted as standard to larger 22” wheels, with options including a black painted finish and the striking Pale Brodgar Satin – a very unusual colour for wheels that is guaranteed to stand out. The brake callipers can be commissioned in an optional gloss black finish, rather than the gloss red provided as standard.
Inside the cabin, there is a wide range of veneer options for the hard surfaces, including traditional gloss wood finishes and more contemporary open pore options. Technical finishes are on offer too, including Dark Tint Engine Turned Aluminium, while you can also opt for Piano Linen gloss paint on the waistrails and fascia. On top of the various hide colours you can choose from, there is the opportunity to add a personal touch in the form of stitching and piping in the contrast colours of your choice.
